There's a lot of anecdotal issues with diet soda, but I have yet to see any actual scientific evidence that they are a problem. Some people feel they increase appetite. Keto doesn't have a problem with caffeine, bulletproof coffee is hugely popular. Because keto can cause some sleep issues early on, it may be wise to reduce caffeine intake when beginning keto. There are lots of caffeine free sodas, I prefer diet root beer because I am a lifelong poor sleeper and don't drink caffeine after noon (and I like the flavor).
