Is this allowed?

I am new to this diet and I am sure I will have many questions beginning with a current dish I have been making ]. But if this is not allowed than I will discontinue.  Are black beans allowed?  Purchased dry boiled in water until tender I drain and add onion, and red pepper then balsamic vinegar and olive oil.  Please let me know.  I cannot find black beans in anything I have read as to if it is or is not allowed.  Thanks in advance

Hello!  Welcome to the forum.  While Black Beans are keto (CM gives them a grade of ‘A’), they are high in carbs.  1/2-cup cooked from dry contains 20 Total Carbs or 13 Net Carbs, depending on which you track.  That’s quite a bit of carbs for one portion of one meal, and I would think it hard to keep your daily totals in check.

To see what a food has for carbs, you can go to the ‘Foods’ tab located to the left (second from top) and select ‘Search’ (all the way to the left) and type the food you want to view in to the search bar.

    Hope this helps.

‘thank you and it does help.   I guess the beans will have to go.  I need to get in better health so I am serious about trying to do what is allowed. I am trying to find my way around this app.  What food or foods am I able to eat when I just need more protein and fat?
