No gallbladder

I all,

I’m not able to get all the fat requirements in that I’m supposed to. I can’t drink the keto coffee because large amounts of fat wreak havoc on my intestines.  Does anyone have advice?

Is it ANY kind of fat? What about eating fatty proteins, nuts, avocados, seeds?

I add fats in where I can.  I cook with lard, bacon fat and butter.  I make fat bombs and use whipping cream in my coffee.  Also will use copious amounts of mayo when I make chicken or egg salads.  Also,  I eat avocados everyday.

Not sure if this would work, but sometimes you can just cut off a tablespoon of butter and eat that.

Pat F I actually ate a tablespoon of mayo last night to get my fat macro where I needed it to be.  Woke up .5 lb lighter this morning.

avocados seem to be tolerable. I’m also taking digestive enzymes and it helps. I seem to be getting more protein than fat so I’m going to focus on fat bombs. Thank you for replying

it may be that my body is adjusting because I’m feeling better. I’m going to start increasing fat slowly and see if I can tolerate that. Thanks!

  • I have restarted keto after stopping due to pain. It is the only diet that I can lose weight without being absolutely miserable. I had my gallbladder removed in 2015. Guess. I got scared that I was stressing my liver out  and quit back in 2019....but, I have put my weight back on....so, I have to do something....so, I bought Lion Heart enzyme +7 from amazon last week after doing some research.—-So far so good with only pain after eating a omelette this morning—but still concerned because I don’t know much about it nor have I heard of anyone else give specific  brands of what to take. So I took a chance-Hope it works.. any advice in this area as far as digestive supplements would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to ruin my liver  😩

Hi. I switched to the low carb medium protein plan. My intestines can’t handle all the fat. Since I just started yesterday, I can’t tell you how it’s working. Also, fake sugar does the same thing that too much fat does- diarrhea.

When I started I added collagen to my coffee. It is supposed to help with a lot of different things including leaky gut. I have noticed some benefits from it, but mostly in my joints (not complaining).

  • Hi what type of collagen do you use.   I have used regular knox gelatin in my coffee before but did not do it enough to see if there was a difference.   I am starting to get achy joints myself at 53.

I bought the Bulletproof brand because it was reasonably priced at Sam’s Club.  When I did some research it said to make sure there were types 1 & 3 and that it was hydrolyzed. I am not really sure what the differences are, but I definitely feel a difference.

I’m without one as well and to be frank the doctor calls it dumping syndrome . Avoid processed foods, I’m sure it may affect each person nutritionally but I have a food list I avoid, my daughter has the same issue without hers. I have learned to take a daily vitamin and only use healthy fats, proteins. Research and asking your pcp or dietitian can’t hurt. Good luck and don’t give up!!!
