What am I doing wrong

Please can somebody help me I've followed a link custom keto and lost weight but it is a bit boring so I've joined here and put the same macro ratios and 1700 calories which seems to be the average daily set but I'm just not losing now, surely if you're doing the same amounts you'd lose still. Am I missing something or just being thick. Carb manager has set 21g net carbs is this too high. Should I just continue with the plan I bought or try to master my own recipes. Please help me xxx

  • Hi,

I’m 3 months into Keto and have been fasting since about the 3rd week. I do a minimum 18hr fast every day. I eat lunch sometime from 12pm-2pm and I eat dinner by 6pm. So I have all of my calories in 2 meals. I only eat twice, no snacking and I eat my 1400 calories in those 2 meals. Sometimes I don’t meet the 1400 but that doesn’t seem to bother my weight loss. I’ve lost 16kg/35lbs so far and have continued to lose weight every week. I’m losing about 0.5kg a week now which is healthy. I occasionally do a 24hr fast but these are never planned and generally I do these when I haven’t eaten lunch and it’s 2pm so I just keep fasting and eat my dinner at 6pm. I hope this inspires you to keepgoing and maybe try IF if you haven’t already.

I have never found Keto boring, you need to make it exciting and start planning your meals. Get yourself in a better mindset so you look at food as being fun. Planning what I’m going to cook for dinner is the highlight of my morning.

How much weight do you have to lose? Are you male, female - general age?  Are you exercising? How long has your weight stayed the same? Calorie needs change as you lose weight so if you've lost a fair bit since you were first set at 1,700 it may be that you don't need that much now.  It's hard to tell as you've not given any information about yourself.  There's other things to consider too - how much water you drink a day, how much sleep you're getting, whether there's 'hidden' carb somewhere you're not accounting for etc etc.
