Need help with macros

My wife and I have been on the Keto diet. We are starting week five. The first week we lost a good amount of weight but the past few weeks have been less. A pound or so. We have been keeping our carbs under 30 religiously. We have been drinking green tea (I call it swamp water) with every meal. We also drink vinegar before our evening meal. My kids like to gather around to watch me drink that stuff. It never gets easier. My wife thinks that we are not losing the weight as fast because we haven't been hitting our "macros". I don't even know what they are and it doesn't sound like she is completely sure herself. I know it is carbs, protein, and fat but that is it. Does someone out there have any advice on how to calculate macros? It would be greatly appreciated.

    If weight loss is your goal, mix it in with fasting.  I lost 20 lbs in first two months of Keto and then my weight loss kind of stopped there. 

    I was curious if I could lose more weight, so I tried a week of 18/6 intermittent fasting. I lost another 8 pounds in a week. 

    I have never calculated anything. Just go with it and don't think too much;)

  • My wife saw somewhere that if you go over your daily carbs it will throw you out of keto and it will take a few days to get back into it. She also saw somewhere that keeping your carbs, proteins, and fats in a certain ratio will optimize keto for faster weight loss. That is what we are looking for. In addition to the keto diet we are doing 16/8 fasting. Soon we will be incorporating an exercise regimen in with our plans. I am confident that the weight will come off faster after we get a few weeks into that. For now we are trying to wrap our heads around this enigmatic ratio. Might have to be happy with slow and steady for now.....
