I would count that same day if you're going to be awake the rest of the day afterwards. I have been on keto for 6 weeks and haven't added exercise yet. You want to make sure you give your body time to adjust. Once I hit week 4 the weight has really been falling off consistently. SW 176, CW 155, so I haven't felt the need to go to the gym. I've just been focusing on getting enough rest at night but I do want to start incorporating some toning exercises and light cardio here soon.
