Help counting macros in a homemade broth

Hello,

I recently made a sort of chicken/vegetable soup and when I made it I included all of the ingredients in the app so I had the macros, however after finishing the soup I realized I had a lot more broth with good flavor so I strained the soup and refrigerated the broth for another day.   My question now is that I'm wanting to use the broth as a base for something like egg drop soup but I'm not sure what the macros would be.      I used butter, olive oil, boneless chicken breast, cauliflower, broccoli, water and a few spices.    I ate the strained chicken/veggies the night I made it with a little bit of the broth, but since the broth has no solid content in it I'm not sure of the macros it would have.   I'm trying to find out how to figure this out in general, not just for this specific recipe.

Thanks!

Calculate all of the ingredients together, then divide by portions.

Showthyme Hi, thank you for responding.   I was able to do this the first night when I ate the soup originally.  There was so much broth though I had taken a full container worth out of the pot (broth only, no chicken or veggies) and wasn't quite sure how to calculate the macros of the portion that had no chicken or veggies.    Like, if I boiled chicken in water only and then took the chicken out I assume the water/broth would contain some form of macros since it is no longer water but I also realize it wouldn't be the same macros as if I hate the chicken and the broth together and would be less, though I don't know how to determine the division.   Would a broth made using broccoli contain carbs because the broccoli did, or because there is no remaining broccoli in the broth is it carb free?    That's mostly what I'm trying to determine.    Thanks!

I weight what I can, but in cases like yours, it can be a bit of a guess if I'm honest.  If cooking say chicken in your broth, then some of the chicken fat would melt into the broth, but I doubt many carbs would leach out from the chicken or broccoli, certainly not enough to make a significant difference.    I'd calculate the total broth recipes (as best you can) then minus the veg and chicken.  That would give you a closer idea, but I wouldn't stress too much unless you are going vastly over every day and not loosing weight.
