Meal Plan & Shopping List

I really want to be able to prep my meals by cooking a lot at once but I can't seem to find a decent and affordable meal plan that features this. Any suggestions?

  • Meal plans are tough, because they usually have a ton of different ingredients that you have to buy for the week. I personally make my own by looking through my cookbooks and online recipes to find dinners with similar ingredients. I also print out this shopping list to compare what I am buying with different recipes. Check out these recipes: https://www.ketoresource.org/keto_recipes/

You can also choose one recipe, and then search for others based on the ingredients. I usually choose my fats, then 2-3 proteins, then fill in the carbs.

  • We have almost 30 weekly meals plans in the app for Premium users, each containing recipes that we made in our own test kitchen. If you add them via the meal planner, we'll also generate a shopping list for you, scaled to the number of people you are shopping for. 馃槂

I think like you, meal plans are difficult to follow because you will need to buy many different ingredients and you maybe not use more than one time.

I鈥檓 in the proccess of making my own meal plans too, I鈥檓 searching recipes and making a list of the most interesting flavors and textures. I may add just one new recipe a week.

  • Carb Manager hello, I love the meal plans, the recipes are excellent, and I love that CM creates a meal plan based on my macros. BUT the shopping list: it should be organized by ingredients for the entire plan (or for one week).. For my 2 week plan I have a 5-page list, in alphabetical order, with each ingredient from each recipe, such as 2 oz Mozarella, 1 tbsp chili powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, etc etc. How do I go to the store with that? I need the total amount of mozza for the 2 weeks. I've seen lists from other apps that do it that way. To me it's a must..

Just wondering if anybody has tried different Carb Manager meal plans and what were your favorites? I think I am going to do individual meals as I only eat 2 meals a day.

  • webbsark I'm in the middle of my first meal plan. I also eat only 2 meals a day (most days). I like the fact that the plan gives me ideas. I make a lot of changes and substitutions. For instance, I fell in love with the Low carb tropical smoothie, so I make it more often than on the plan, as my 'brunch'. It's just an example, but I can make the changes I want while staying withing my macros, since the plan is customized for me.. Generally I find the recipes pretty good.

gritestorm01c3 thanks. I have found most CM recipes to be good but there's so much that it's kind of hard to sort through it all.

i used the meal planning portion and do not eat pork.  I got several recipes with chorizo and procciotto!  Who puts the plans together?  Last I heard both are pork products.

Karyl You can substitute turkey sausage for chorizo and add chipotle or cayenne.  You might even be able to find turkey chorizo.  Prosciutto is harder.  Maybe pastrami?  It's not anything like it but kind of in the same direction.  I don't bother with meal plans as I am picky and the list of foods I will not eat is pretty long.  Plus I like coming up with my own recipes.

I just googled and there are a bunch of recipes to make your own turkey chorizo.
