I LOVE fooooood!!

Good morning (I'm from the UK) 3 days in and I am going OK, the issue I have is I love food, but hey don't we all? I eat when I'm happy, sad, excited, nervous, my whole day revolves around food I know its my comfort blanket. At age 40, obese, resembling a ball and with severe symptoms of Fibromyalgia/under active thyroid, enough is enough. Having a very active family is hurling me into the pits of depression as I can't keep up. To think I was running 5&10 k two years ago! I am hoping low carb is the way to go for me. I am hoping my first couple of weeks will show good losses to keep me motivated. I would love to have some low carb simple snacky ideas please. TIA Rachel :)

So how are you getting along? Sorry it’s been a frantic few days for me.

i don’t often eat snacks but I have occasionally: macadamia nuts with Himalayan pink rock salt, sometimes adding  cubes of cheese or Brazil nuts. Cucumber sticks with full fat cream cheese. Pieces of smoked salmon spread with cream cheese, rolled & sliced. A slice of really good ham with cream cheese - rolled up and sliced......  bit of a theme!

i have also sat and eaten 4oz of cheddar cheese at 2pm as the first thing of my day followed by dinner at 5.30 when I didn’t have time for a sit down with a plate meal.

as you go from starting out then into fat adapted you will see a real reduction in your appetite. Meanwhile try to eat enough food in one meal ie a plateful only so that you don’t snack between meals. It will help your weightloss tremendously. Read blood sugar research & insulin fat storage. There is so much for free under the Low Carb Heading, Favourite Self Education post.
