Hello my name is MH. I’m 53, female, and have a goal to lose 20 pounds by my vacation in February

I just finished the Whole 30 and loved it but plateaued after two weeks. Keto is taking things to a new level.  Started yesterday. Anyone else tried the Whole 30?  I just finished reading Bulletproof and Keto Clarity. I have all my stuff... ghee, coconut oil, good coffee, XCT oil, an immersion blender and lots of low carb veggies for steaming. Oh and a box of ketostix! Am I missing anything?

    Welcome. Wow, you sound well prepared and well provisioned. You also have your app for tracking (recording ALL food is important, especially at first) and a bunch of folks here to cheer you on. The only thing I can think to add is a pair of jeans👖 a size too small for inspiration. 😀

    Wow, you are way more prepared than I am. Guess I have more researching to do. Have no idea what a ketostix is at this point and if I need one yet.

    pnhale LOL. Yes, there's a lot to learn but you can pick most of it up as you go.  No need to put off starting until you're fully read up. BTW, I've heard great things about Keto Clarity and it's next on my list. 

    Ketostiks are for measuring ketones in your urine. It's one way to track whether you're in ketosis (which means your body is starting to burn fat rather than burning carbs and storing fat). They're great for most beginners, especially people who have had high-carb/sugar diets.

    I just re-read Bulletproof and completely missed that adding coconut oil to your Bulletproof coffee is counterproductive! You should have the coffee with cream, butter and C8 (Brain Octaine) ONLY.... Apparently coconut oil contains a lot of the longer chain triglycerides and waters down the beneficial C8. C8 is made from coconut oil and takes out those longer chain MCTs.

    mhgoketo I agree. And actually I don't take anything in my coffee anymore. Using my pure body fat. Still melting.

    desertdiabla582c I have to interject here. Ketosticks is not the breath ketone monitor. It's used to monitor urine ketones.
