Deduct exercise from calories and macros (yes or no)

So I discovered today that there is an option in the settings menu that allows you to deduct your exercise from the daily macros and calories.  My default settings already had my calories toggled to yes.  I have been working very hard the last 10 days to keep as close to my suggested macros and have been successful.  However looking at today after I toggled to deduct the exercise from macros my macros dropped drastically.  I realize I am still very new to keto and I don't expect drastic weight loss immediately but I have been fluctuating daily by as much as 8-10lbs.  I started at 272lbs and this morning I weighed in at 261.4lbs.  I suppose I am losing but I wonder if I were to eat more if I would see better or worse results.  I have been working off these macros:  26g net carbs, 159g fat, 128g protein and 2045 cals.  What has everyone else experienced with this option?  - Chef

Congratulations.  Your hard work is really paying off.  I turned off deduct calories when I exercise because I don’t need the extra calories. If am hungry, I add some calories, if not I use the exercise to increase weight loss.

  • When I first started I had it deduct calories but the temptation to eat more was to great.  The folks on here also recommended that I turn it off and they are right on the money.

Perfect just what I was going to ask, a 20 minute leisurely stroll to school just took 3grams of carbs off my day. That doesn’t seem quite right! That could be dangerous!

  • Gina To be honest I have not really payed attention to the calories.  I have been making my daily menu off of the macros.  With having that exercise option toggled off on adjusting macros I have been satisfied.  But when I turned it on I looked at how far my macros decreased and thought to myself, there is no way I need to be eating that much.  I have turned off both calories and macros.  I will see if that makes a difference in the weight loss.

  • 2 things. How in the world are you guys staying so low on carbs? I went and spent 200 just buying like meat and cheese because they are supposed to be low carb but like brats, have 2 carbs and that shit sneaks up on me because A I just like to eat and B I burn a bunch of calories so I need to eat to not burn off muscle and/or literally starve. Which brings me to the second thing, on average I burn about 6000 a day so to even get to 5000 (1000 calorie deficit) eating the brats I'd need to eat 15 of them.  So I'm quite tempted to turn on the reduce macros from excersize but Im pretty afraid of ruining my results.  (And i know in my example i would only hit 30 carbs which isnt awful but im also eating other foods i dint eat 15 sausage) oh and also, my fat consumption according to this is much too low. I would pretty much need to eat straight butter to get there
