Losing lots of hair

After 5 months in Keto and doing great. List 30 lbs. I had to stop because suddenly I started to lose an unusual amount of hair. I stopped 3 weeks ago but want to go back. Any idea and suggestions to get my hair back to normal. What am I doing wrong. Please help. Much appreciated. Thank you

I have been losing hair as well, but that is because I am at 4mos post partum (I am losing clumps of hair each time I wash my hair and every morning on my pillow as well).  What helps is to take Biotin.

I can already tell it's making a difference. Hope this helps.

I am losing hair too but I was told by my doctor it was from all the stress  of living through covid-19 and not the result of the keto lifestyle.   Many other women are losing hair.  I was told once things calm down, our hair follicles will start producing hair again.  I hope my doctor is right.  As of now, I will not give up on keto.  It's working really well for me.  I hope this is helpful.😊

  • My hair is thinning as well.  Have you had been tested for Vitamin D levels?  Mine are super low and low levels of D can cause hair loss.  I have to take 5000 IU and that's a lot but that's how low I am!!

  • Cabamjam  I'm taking biotin and I still am seeing hair everywhere but I'm low on Vitamin D.  Have you been checked for that?

I was having hair loss before I started Keto and then it seemed to be worse.  But I had read about taking collagen powder and saw videos from Dr. Berg, Dr. Ken Berry and Thomas DeLauer about how important collagen is.  I checked out several brands and landed on Great Lakes Collagen Hydrolysate powder.  I read lots of reviews and many talked about hair growth.  I have been taking it now for 42 days.  2 scoops in my coffee a.m. and 2 scoops in tea p.m.   I am a believer !  My hair isn't falling out as much, and I have new hair coming in at my temples where my hairline had been receding.  I am sure all the brands are similar, different people recommend different brands.  Just be sure to look at protein and other ingredients and compare.  I buy mine directly from Great Lakes, but I think you can get it on Amazon also.  Also, my skin, especially my face, is so much better.  And it is also great for joints.  Try any collagen hydrolysate powder and that may make a difference.

Have you tried incorporating collagen? Great for hair, skin, and nails- best way is to drink bone broth.
