Frustrated

Hello all!

frustrated keto follower here looking for advice. I’ve been eating healthy and working out regularly since January. After I hit a platoe, I decided to give keto a shot. I’ve been RELIGIOUS with the keto. Cauliflower is my new best friend. I take MCT oil in the mornings with my coffee, intermittent fasting, work out 3-4 times a week. I know I’m in full blown ketosis, I use testing strips from the laboratory I work for. I’ve been doing this for almost two months. Have. Not. Lost. A. Pound. I’m so frustrated. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m 5’4” and 131 lbs. is it possible to platoe on keto when you just started? All advice welcomed!

    Hello there! 

    If you are not eating too much carbs inadvertently then perhaps should look into the calories you are consuming. I find that I am able to lose weight if I watch what I eat very carefully and not just overindulge in cheese, keto snacks etc.

  • As Maggie said if Carbs / Sugar are limited then I can only imagine you are taking in too much fat as calories that would also explain the urine sticks still showing positive as they're excess ketones, once you are adapted and burning body fat the sticks usually show very little if any ketones - for me personally that took about a month and now urine strips show nothing however my blood ketone monitor shows I generally stay around 1.4-2.0mmol all day. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right balance for yourself but I'm sure you'll get there.
