NSV (Non-Scale Victory)

I love, love, love my hula hoop - best exercise EVER!!! I can't do the traditional one to save my life, so I have one of the "belt" hula hoops in the photo...NSV is that after receiving it via Amazon on SEPTEMBER 4 (and using it daily!) , I was able to remove a link from the belt last week to make it smaller -YAY!!!!! :-)

VickP thanks! I think next to jump roping (too hard of an impact for me), hula hooping burns the most - up to 400 calories per hour dependent upon a variety of factors and how fast you do it. I started only doing 10 minutes a day, then 15 twice a day, then 30 minutes twice a day, and now sometimes 45-60 minutes straight. Throw in some hand weights and/or resistance bands for a great upper-body workout, too! BAM! Might as well make it fun, amirite??

Uamveryrite!! I have a weighted walking vest and I am anxious to see what kind of double duty work out I can get with the vest and the hula hoop! Five years ago I had back surgery, most of my lower back is steel rods and screws...the surgeon told me at the time my best defense and offense in the future was to keep my core as strong as possible and I am thinking this hula hoop is gonna be another tool in that box!!
I'd never seen this style of "hoop" so thanks again for sharing your story!

Eons ago was a gymnast..way back then using a hula hoop in routines was cake. I forgot how many muscle it takes to keep the "hoop" moving and add to it this works just a bit different than a hula hoop. My husband got a cardio workout trying to stand up while he was laughing his fool head off at me using it for the first time.
The vest will have to wait!!
Thanks again for starting the thread cuz you just schooled me on how outta shape my core still is!!
(That's a good thing!!)
