I want to eat

Hi everyone! I have started my low carbs diet one week ago. I am trying to count everything. Only 3 times I had over carbs and twice protein. I guess that I don’t eat as much fat as need.  What to do if I feel hungry after 2-3 hours after last meal?

    I follow dr berg’s advice. When planning meals, keep your carbs low and eat cups and cups of salad. Only use above ground vegetables. You don’t need to add any fat if you select fatty cuts of meat. I eat a lot of ground beef and fatty steaks, like rib eye or strip loins. I also eat lots of eggs. Very rarely do I have trouble getting my fats in this way. You will also stay very satisfied and can go for hours eating this way.

  • Honestly fasting was really hard in the beginning, but now i love it! I usually only eat dinner. It does take some time for your body to adjust but, i always look forward to feeling satiated after a big dinner. Been eating this way for 10 months, lost 66lbs. Dont get me wrong sometimes i want a piece of cake, but i enjoy myself so much more and i do allow myself cheat meals and days everynow and then and dont feel guilty about it either.

    I really havent given any of those deserts a chance. I just save my cheating for certian days. Like if we go out of town, family get togethers birthdays. I tried keto a few years back with zero success, and am now wondering if its because i was eating those atkins bars, even though they are supposed to be sugar free.

    some of dr.fungs videos are interesting. I personally eat one meal a day, for a lot of people this is too much. Ease yourself in and find what works for you. Some people do 12 hour fasts. Some do 24 or 48 a couple of times a week. Once you are in ketosis fasting does become easier. That being said, it does become much easier to not go over your carb limit, when eating fewer meals. I dont technically do a true fast since i have a hefty amount of heavy cream in my coffee in the morning, then i normally eat a large dinner with plenty of low carb veggies and something yummy and fatty. I have days where i get hungry and i have a snack. I have days where i want a few beers and to veg out, and i do it. This way isnt perfect, but this is the longest i have ever stuck with any way of eating! I dont beat myself up anymore! I have weeks where i dont lose weight anymore, and i dont let it bother me. I think at first its important to track how many carbs you are eating so that you have an idea of the things you can and cant have, and the amount of those things you can have. Experiment with new recipes, find out what you like. I never obsessed over all of my macros personally, just watched the carbs. Just make sure your not eating a crazy amount of protien  which shouldnt be a problem if you are fasting, make sure you are getting plenty of healhy fats to keep you fuller longer. Those first few days while my body was adjusting, i sipped chicken broth when i got really hungry, then waited for my delicious dinner.

     Eating a bulletproof coffee or something similar at breakfast I do not get hungry until late afternoon! Then I will often have half a cup of nuts, macadamia have the highest fat and lowest carb and of course are the most expensive! That holds  me until dinner & some more nuts for an evening snack. Are usually do not even get hungry and eat dinner because of the protein and vegetable components I know I need.  So I’m probably doing something like a fat fast for 16 hours every day and one meal a day. Maybe this is something you could try?

  • Katt Hi! Thank you!!! I also have thought about that. The biggest fast for now is 10-12 hours. If I eat around 30gr of carbs sometimes, can I get Ketosis?  I’m on diet more than 3 weeks ,but my Keto checking is negative.

    Molly are we supposed to fast? This is the first I've heard about this.  It's day 1 for me
