Very discouraged---should I just have the darn surgery?

I am trying this for the first time, even though I have tried and done everything else with some success, but I had to let it consume me in order to get there.  Like many, I have spent more money and time learning a new way only to fail again.  I am now thinking maybe my bet is just to have surgery.   I feel like this is so complicated and I am only going to fail anyway.

I know 3 people that had the full gastric bypass - they lost tremendous amounts of weight but became tortured psychologically as they hadn’t prepared their mind and brain from the years of overeating and habits!

All three within 3 - 5 years were again obese !

Kind of what I am afraid of.  Just having a low day, I guess. Hopefully, I will feel better and keep at it.  Just angry I gained so much back to begin with.

Ej my son in law had the surgery several years ago. He has put the weight back on. Stick with it. Keto does work.

There is a ton of prep for the surgery and afterwards is tough.  I know one person who has done well, but the others did not. Please give this lifestyle a chance.  Find some good, simple recipes to start. Find some meal plans for ideas, listen to some podcasts for inspiration.  Good luck!! You can absolutely do this!

Hey Chilltown!  I went down for the surgery but my insurance turned out not to cover and it was the BEST thing that ever happened to me!! I found keto and have lost as much weight as I probably would've had I had the surgery and just as quick.  You can read my story under Progress "I lost 45lbs in 6 weeks" and the update but I'm four and a half months in and am down 92lbs.  The way I saw it was, even with the surgery you ARE going to have to change your diet anyway and the diet won't be nearly at tasty as on Keto! And don't forget all the PAIN and risk of DEATH that comes with surgery.  I started a YouTube channel under my screen name "Ketogenic Karl" with the hopes of discouraging people like yourself from going under the knife until you try Keto first.  It has changed my life and can change yours as well.  Believe me, if you can't stick with Keto, you probably won't stick with your post-op diet.  I go to bars and have awesome burgers with bacon and cheese minus the buns with a low carb beer. I eat pizza casserole, philly cheese steak, burgers with cheese and egg, Wendy's baconators, I also have eat pasta (sharitaki noodle) with alfredo sauce and italian sausage all while losing weight!

Thanks you guys~!  I am sticking with it and can't wait to read your stories.  Hearing just this little bit of encouragement really helps!
