Moondrake the ones my husband used to buy had croutons - not Keto lots of carbs. A lot of ready made salad dressings (non-vinegar and oil types) aren't Keto. A lot of dressings have high fructose corn syrup in them - lots of sugar, and lots of carbs. I don't like vinegar andoil so I make my own dressings one no sugar maybe 1 carb, and the other the other maybe 1 sugar and 1 carb. The salads themselves are fine, its what is put with it.

Mel The chopped salad kits I have seen usually don't have croutons, but many have a lot of carrots and some have a lot of broccoli, which add up the carbs fast. Many also have fruits, like sweetened cranberries. And of course most chopped salads seem to have sweet dressings, which are also a keto no-go. Many premade salads have both croutons and keto-defying dressings but premade salads are easier to use, discarding the croutons and substituting or minimizing dressing. Chopped salads tend to be completely mixed, so if there are undesired ingredients they are hard to pick out. Mostly I was curious where the OP saw they were "bad", how the OP was defining "bad".
