passion869031e2 I went over and still shed fat, and still do) prob because I had been eating way over 2000 calories prior to keto, but not sure. I don’t hold myself so micro the calories, because some days you just need more of this or that due to activity level and hunger. Soon, you would or should find you eat less calories as weeks go by, it will come naturally.
Yes, sticking to pre determined calorie counts ultimately show faster weight loss possibly but the body can go to starvation mode also and not release the fat sooner than desired.
Your day two, I wouldn’t micro calories much if your hungry, hunger is hard starting out, but the net carb counts. You may go over on proteins and fats, and that’s okay starting out, it’s a huge process for the body to switch over to Keto. Hang in there, week 4-5, you will hit most goals on the wheel most days. With keto flu, it was impossible for me to stay within the calorie counts. Good luck.

It depends. If you’re including dairy, you may find you have to keep an eye on calories. If you’re a woman, you’re also more likely to need to at least keep a loose count. And if you’re over 40, again, calories will matter more. It can also be very easy to overdo the protein, which your body will convert to glucose and knock you out of ketosis. But if you’re counting macros and making sure you don’t go over on carbs or proteins, you may find that you can exceed your daily fats (and therefore increase your daily calories) and still lose fat because you’re in ketosis. The pitfall most of us have is exceeding the proteins and coming out of ketosis without realizing it.
