This is my 6th day, not a fan.  I have to force myself to workout then I feel like lead legs rest of day and night.  Drink lots of water, but still tired lethargic, a little nauseous. Craving fresh fruit like mad! Stomach acts up now and again, I guess Keto flu? Anyone else struggling.   Plus side not hungry not craving g fries and chocolate like normal me.

Hi there, yah I’ve heard abt this here and yes has been called “ keto flu”. Hearing also that getting some keto salts and taking that in for a week or two might help it. Good luck !

Thank you! Since you have been on this awhile. Do you ever eat “bad” foods like at a family event. Holidays etc?  Not like a pig out  just like more carbs than normal?  My daughters baby shower is next week my lunch low carb, but I would like to have a piece of her cake? Will this blow my ketones?

cweni simple answer yes. I feel for you and only you can decide.

Long answer:  Personally no piece of cake is worth losing ketosis and transitioning into fat adapted for because once you break through into fat adapted you will feel invincible. Until you go off plan..... if you had more experience and were near goal I wouldn’t worry so about you, it would take quite a few days to recover. But you sound to be In keto flu right now so are particularly vulnerable. Take lots of extra Himalayan pink rock salt on your food, potassium, magnesium & zinc, plenty of water & rest. Keto salts if you can get them quickly.

being a great mum & wonderful doting grandmother is far more important than eating some sugar (more addictive than drugs) laden trap. Hugs 🤗

After 2 weeks on Keto my husband & I went to Tenerife for 2 weeks sunshine. Normally we drink way too much as it is seriously cheap, ie noon strikes a cork pops..... dine out most nights and come home relaxed & 7 lbs heavier ~ this time I took it one day at a time became fat adapted whilst out there yippee and returned almost 5lbs lighter with no going off plan & no alcohol ( my husband gained the usual 7) bless it ‘s taken him 3 weeks to lose that (he is not Keto) while I have continued losing (20lbs now).

I just keep in mind “it’s not my food” ~ so simple ~ rather than bemoan being on a diet. I do not want to go through gaining again! I’m 56 & love my 3 grandchildren to bits.

How about a wonderful small plate of gorgeous cream /cheeses & bite sized pieces of celery pre organised so you have creaminess & crunch to enjoy?

Agree (again !) w Joanna ! Once adapted, it’s easier to get back on ( for me either dropping #s or seeing keto+, then finally both). When I first started, it was difficult and took much longer.

I’m also finding ways to keep the social part of sharing meals and treats alive while actually not taking in too much (or any !) myself. One thing to do is down some tea plus MCT oil plus maybe a hint of stevia for some - before going out or eating in. Plus a nice glass of cool filtered water. Slowly both so as not to feel over-full.

Then enjoy with friends and family. I can enjoy them without either drawing attention to myself (“look at me I’m on this diet”) or eating wrongly for me at the time. Put a few things on my plate - choose these carefully, eat them slowly. Since I’m not at all hungry, it’s only taste that I’m forgoing. Pay attention to everyone around me  - this is social !

If crave for taste comes up, compare that taste against the success of reaching goal - EVERY time.

Good luck - you’ll see it. This whole thing brings mighty power to us!
