My morning coffee is Instant or Ground, coconut milk, 3 equal sweetener pills. I’m thinking so far, so good. I want to add a dollop of butter. As an idea - good, bad or ugly?

Smokie Lots of people like it.  Just blend it well, so it doesn’t separate.  My favorite coffee is 1 tablespoon of Torani Sugar free Hazelnut syrup and 1 tablespoon of heavy whipping cream.  It helps start my day with high fat percentage and it’s delicious.  Good  Luck

Thanks, Gina. Just to be sure, I’m doing the Keto lose weight thingo and my difficulty is getting the amount of fat up there. I thought the butter coffee would be a good way to do it. Hope I’m right.

  • I use either Kerrygold butter (more expensive but worth it) or coconut oil, I switch back and forth. I worked my way up to 2 tablespoons a day to get my fats up. If you are just starting use a lesser amount to see if your body is going to have a reaction. I put it in the Ninja/blender. It makes it smooth with a creamy mouth feel and there is not a pool of fat floating on top of the hot coffee. I really enjoy it!

I stick to plain old powdered creamer 1gram per Tspn. I still love the taste and really med my coffee. I tried MCT oil, but didn't care for texture.  Anyone else use plain powdered nondairy creamer?

Chica I drink my coffee with 1 tbsp of unsalted butter and 1 tbsp of coconut oil. I don’t like any sweetner, but if you like it you can use some. The trick with bullet proof coffee when using butter and coconut oil use a blender...the coffee will come out so good like bought from the store.

I am addicted to my bullet proof coffee I work in a laboratory and find it really makes me focused and energised. I have a coffee machine and grind 1 and half shots of coffee, I then froth half a cup of unsweetened almond milk, then I add both to a blender along with 1 tablespoon of collagen, butter, and MCT oil. I also add a dash of full cream.  And 1 tsp of erythritol. Blend together and it tastes amazingly. This is all I have up to lunch as it’s so filling.

  • Chica I use a tablespoon of both salted butter and coconut oil in my coffee.  It is delicious, but gina is right you must blend it/emulsify it very well.  I have found that salted butter makes a difference in the taste too.  I don't recommend unsalted butter for this high fat coffee started.

I have tried the coconut butter, heavy whipping cream, MCT, and tea. I use KetoFeed for the sweetener. It has zero net carbs.
