Staying Keto and having surgery

Does anyone have any advice on staying Keto and having 2 surgeries? I am new to this lifestyle and am scheduled to have all my teeth extracted for dentures; followed soon after with a total knee replacement. I really appreciate any advice on this .....from a Keto Friend !!

  •   Use protein powder instead of meat, chicken. Eggs with butter, is a great source of protein and fat.  Cheesecake made with your choice of sweetener is really good.  That is all I can think of now. I wish you the best of luck.

  • debra06201374ad   Thank you so much for your advice !!  I'm just worried about going out of ketosis during my  actual surgeries; the hospital stay; and recoveries. I have been trying so hard to follow Keto and don't want to have to start all over.  Will try your suggestions; thanks again. Blessings, Debbie.

I was in hospital unable to eat and ketosis was best ever and lost lots of weight as l was fasting.   How about trying  heavy bullet proof coffee.... mct oil cream n butter in coffee.  That will keep your strength up.  And keep you in ketosis.

Bone Broths, soups, guacamole, nut butters, meat salads finely ground in food processor (chicken, tuna, ham etc.), pimento cheese, egg salad, unsweetened yogurt, full fat cottage cheese.

Ask your Dr. to order diabetic meals in the hospital.  At least that way you can avoid added sugars.  Do the best you can while dealing with your recovery.  Try to make the best choices available and not worry too much.  Good Luck.
