  • Dragonville, I don't use the app since I don't have a cell phone that does that. I use Carb Manager on my computer and I really like it; it is becoming more familiar every day. I am doing the 18/6 intermittent fasting. How can I gradually progress into a One Meal A Day (OMAD)? Do you have some good advice about it and is it really helping at losing weight?

  • Dragonville  thank you!  It’s ok to stay the course but the pounds are dropping slow (at least in my mind).

Hi Nancy!  Your message was the first I read before I posted my hello.  Our “situations” sound a little alike although I really don’t know an answer to your issue because I’m relatively new at this 😕.

I’ve been on Keto for 4 months with good success having lost 35 pounds until the past 18 days in which I’ve been stuck at 158 (my weight loss goal is around 140).

I also have hypothyroidism, but so far, it hasn’t affected anything - at least as much as I’m aware.

I enjoy working out and with that weight loss I’ve walked/jogged more (as the knees allow) and want to get more weight training in like I used to.  Unfortunately minor strains seem to take forever to heal so I am sidelined for the most part.

I’ve always read that with any diet, keto included, that consistent workouts will build muscle which will make you weigh a little bit more.  And that muscle will burn more calories to help in losing the weight.  (You May already know this ...)

Another thought might be the focus on the low calorie intake.   I know keto works differently in regards to “diets” but 1200 calories seem a pretty low standard to go by.   I’ve seen many other plans that say 1200 is the bare minimum you use to stay healthy so it seems odd for this type of lifestyle to push a lower caloric value when the focus is on macros for success.   It’s even harder on the body when you are probably working off just about every calorie you take in.

(Note - these are just food for thought as you sound like you are more experienced than I.)

Otherwise it sounds like your plan is working (slow is normal from what I can tell) and I hope it continues.
