What is the logic ?

Keto restrictions on protein  question

I was on Atkins in the past and stayed really low carb so I was keto all the time and ate all the protein and fat I wanted and lost lots of weight  Why all the attention on fat over protein   It seems like much more complicated way to lose the same weight.

Thanks for any insights

Doug

  • I started Atkins last April and lost 50lbs in 8 months.  I've put on 9lbs since Jan and decided I wanted to try the Keto Diet but it does seem a bit difficult.  I'm thinking of just going back to the regular Atkins and forget all this fat/protein/carbs thing. lol

The thinking about Fats over protein is because protein still spikes insulin but fats do not.

high protein (when it has no where to go with the excess) will turn into glucose, thereby spiking insulin, then storing in your fat cells.
