Hi! I'm new

And I would like to drop 30lbs by December, when I'll be going on a special trip. I have followed the Keto diet for almost a week. (Started Sept. 9th.) What can I do to achieve this? Lower my calories as well as carbs? I plan to slow down weight loss in the new year. My average calories per day have been 1500 and I'm not seeing any change. I do drink one small Scotch every evening. I can't weigh myself because I broke my ankle and have been in a cast for months. Thanks for any tips and help!

If you are inactive because of your ankle, you could drop your calories another 200-300. If you’re drinking straight scotch, I believe that’s one of the keto friendly alcohols. Your body will still have to metabolize it before fat though.

  • I feel your pain about being bound to a chair or bed. My knees hurt  and burn so badly I can barely walk and I’ve been on this way of eating for 3 months 7 days and lost 42lbs and when I started exercising, I lost more.  You have to move your body.

#1. I know you love your scotch but if at all possible ditch it until your trip.  It’s worth it.

#2 You can exercise in bed and in a chair.  Have someone get you a few 2-10lb hand weights and look up a few exercises you can modify for the chair and bed. Do at least 3 sets of 15 each and time your work out.  And there are great exercises just for the arms and no weights. Look up how to get rid of flappy arms.

    # 3  You must eat!  Carbs and your macros are more important to fixate on than calories.   Keep your Net Carb at 20 but keep to 15. If you’re feeling hungry, make sure you have more fat with your meals, they tend to keep you less hungry.  Don’t be afraid of healthy fats.  Remember that this is a high fat diet  5/20/ 75 or close.

#4  Eat simple foods that you can weigh and MEASURE your foods.  Most people, including me, think we know what an ounce/tablespoon/teaspoon or two is — but isn’t.

    5. Drink all the water even though you hate to get up to pee because of your ankle  Just do it  it will speed up your weight loss.

    You Got This!
