My journey so far...

Hi there - I am 44 years young and have 59 more pounds to lose. I weighed 220lbs January of 2018. As of today, I weigh 189lbs. I started off slow by eliminating sweet tea and reducing pasta, rice, bread, and potatoes in my diet. Mid September I was down to 207 and discovered my hgb A1C was 6.7. Yikes! My doctor told me he could actually diagnose me as a type 2 diabetic right then. I am an RN, I know all too well about this disease. My doctor gave me 2 months to get it down before medications. By mid November I was down to 197 and my hgb A1C was down to 5.7! During that 2 months I cut out all pasta, bread, potatoes, and rice. My weight hasn't gone down much; however, my clothes are telling a different story.

Fast forward to this week and I am now all in for the Keto WOE. I began using this app and discovered I really had no idea how many carbs I was still consuming. Smoked sausage?!?!?! I 💘 smoked sausage!!! Well...it is actually pretty high in carbs for any of us to enjoy it. I bought some ghee and aside from HWC and a little blue cheese in my salads, I am greatly reducing my dairy intake now.

I would like to see 150lbs by late spring / early summer. I think this is a doable goal; if not, I am completely fine with whatever my number is. Why? Because I KNOW this WOE is my life now. The pounds will go away and I am becoming a much healthier person in the process ❤
