how many veggies are we supposed to have?

I’m so confused on how many vegetables I’m supposed to have. I’ve read where half our plate should be vegetables at every meal.   I’m supposed to be no more than 15  carbs per day, but the carbs broccoli and asparagus add up quickly.   The veggies end up pushing me over my daily carb limit.   I know I need fiber from somewhere.  I just want to make sure I’m on the right track.  Any advice is appreciated.  Ty.

  • Shoot i know you should be able to eat plenty of the low carb veggies and not go over on carbs. Spinach you can eat a ton of. Are you counting net carbs?? Think of how much fiber is in those veggies. I know everyone is different, but for me personally i never stressed myself too much about counting the cruciferous veggies and havent had any trouble losing weight or constipation issues for that matter lol

You don't have to count up to 10 cups dark green leafy or cruciferous veggies. But don't eat 10 c of broccoli or cauliflower. Mostly the dark leafy ones. I count zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower & cabbage because that's how I get my carbs. I tried adding a pic of the veggies but it won't let me.

Yes that is confusing. Im not a big lettuce eater and def wont do kale. Some spinach is ok but my hubby hates it. I like veggie soups but hard to determine just how much veggies you are eating. Im going to try the recipes in the carb manager now as it seems easier to calculate. Good luck people!😊
