Plateau
Hi! I've been tracking since July 18, 2017 and have lost 13.8 lbs. I need to lose 40 more. But for the last 2 weeks I have hardly lost a lb. I keep under 50 g a day and around 1200 or fewer calories a day (with very few exceptions). I have been drinking Zevia and eating some Mikey's "muffins." Maybe that's holding me back?

Additionally to the carb amount, stalls are completely normal and unfortunately they always seem to last too long. Eventually your body will realize this way of eating is for real and you're continuing rather than going back to old ways so your weight set point will readjust and you'll see progress again. With the Zevia, I have not used it but I do know that sugar substitutes can still induce an insulin response. Insulin is the hormone that drives fat storage. Best to try and keep insulin to a minimum. In the meantime look also for non scale victories. I.E. How do you feel? Best wishes.

I agree with all of the above. First, realize that you will hit plateaus along the way- the body needs time to adapt. Ditch the sugar substitutes and the muffins. Also, you may want to try keeping your net carbs below 20 or 30 for a week and see what happens. I have to stay below 20 to stay in ketosis.

donye1983 im actually doing much much better staying away from sugar alcohols, Atkins meals and snacks! I tried the keto lifestyle few years back and splurged on those things only to have multiple cravings and not much progress. I keep lots of bacon in the house now. If I really do need something sweet I will have very rare small 7 ounce diet pop or some strawberries at night time. Back to bacon and grease next morning though. Without exercise my progress is really slow, but I am okay with that. I kept this fat on my body for a long ass time, and as long as I can see jeans starting to get big- it's a win for me. After three months I finally have my mental clarity back.

KBG ill admit I like a cocktail on the weekends and I did hear zevia soda is the better mix of all of them. I eat bacon eggs next morning and don't miss a beat with still being in ketosis but I would never drink that on a daily. Never. It's water, tea or coffee for this girl. A body builder who believes in keto told me that about th zevia if you really want a mixer for a cocktail or 5. Lol. I trust him - he's got about 5% body fat.
