New 32 day low carber... Question?

Greetings all,

I began my low carb journey 32 days ago.   I started at 20 to 50 carbs a day... I now find it pretty easy to keep my carbs at lower than 30.  I am drinking 44 plus ounces of water as well.     I have a few questions, please.

Does ketosis cause like hot flashes during the night?

I have been creating my own custom recipes in carb manager and I like making a dish and portioning it out for the best low carb option.      I have purchased some low carb cookbooks that have bread, waffles, pancake etc... type recipes  that use almond flour, coconut flower stevia, monk fruit sweetener, and something called swerve, I think...Lol.

Does making these recipes with the flours and sugar subs slow down weight loss?     I feel like I  am in prime losing mode and totally afraid to try them because I do not want to slow my weight loss

Look at a lot of recipes for sweets that use stevia and monk fruit sweetener and would buy them and try them but still afraid to   try them.

Do any of you have experience with foods like these and what have your results been.   I have a lot of weight to lose and I want the best results I can get for now... if necessary I can wait and try using those type things for maintenance.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you in advance..

  • I would stay away from artificial sweeteners. Just tasting something sweet can cause your body to produce insulin. Insulin causes fat storage. Plus sweet tasting food are addictive. They can make you crave more sweets.

The almond flower and coconut flower are a much better options then wheat flour. They do still have a decent amount of carbs in them that can add up quickly. If you are aiming for 20-50g of carbs per day you will be maxed out fairly quickly using a lot of almond and coconut flour.
