Do bones count towards the consumed MACROS?

So, having a discussion with friends about bone-in meats. When you weigh them, they contain the weight of non-consumed parts. For example, almost 1/3 of the total weight of a chicken wing is the bones that are not consumed. So, if you use the before cooking weight, as many do, you include the weight of things not consumed.

Should we be subtracting the weight of the non-consumed parts?

  • Weigh it before you eat it. Then weigh the bones when you are done. Subtract the weight of the bones from the original weight and there you go.

Just choose the food option with bone-in.  CM has already calculated the difference.

You should be counting the weight without the bone unless you’re going to eat it. The shortcut is to use the bone-in option, but some cuts of meat have different sized bones depending on how far up or down the body of the animal it was cut from.
