Calories

I am new. Just started today. Should I try to hit the macro goals only or also the calorie goal?

    There are differing views on that, some say to get all your calories or even go over as long as you keep the ratios some say a slight calorie deficit, the big one that basically everyone agrees on is net carbs should be under 50-20 g. (for starting out I would aim for under 20 g).

    From my perspective and what has worked for me personally was to ensure the following:

    1. Not to go over 20 g of carbs. (never mind about the % as long as it was still under 10% at absolute most)
    2. To keep fat calories in the (70% - 80%) range

    I didn't worry too much about total calories either way, deficit or excess.
