Pork rind substitute

Does anyone have a recipe to substitute for pork rinds? I don’t eat pork products and would like to find a ‘free’ snack that has very little or zero net carbs.

Thanks!!

also, i have seen it donein a food docum.  with the skin placed between two cookie sheets back to back to ensure it stays straight. i guess you could sprinkle it with seeds like sesame and sea salt and they would get embedded in the crisp during the bake.

salmon skin is a good candidate, if you like fish flavours. besides being 0 carbs, this snack type is loaded with colagen, which is needed for your hair, skin and nails. if you are not particulary interested to get your collagen that way, you can try cheese crisps, which is basically mounds of grated parmesan or other mature dry cheese baked in the oven until golden.

Ina thank you for the info. Unfortunately, I’m not a big fish fan either. The cheese crisps are good, but kinda tired of those too.

  • Denita I enjoy pumpkin seeds, unsweetened coconut chips, or almonds...all have good fat, are fairly low in carbs and satisfy my crunch attacks. (Since they are SO tasty, I always measure them out in a little baggie or dish to make sure I don't overeat.)
