Feeling rundown after 3 weeks

Hi all,

started keto on Jan 1st.  Been doing very well and had no major complaints till the past several days. I’m feeling very drained and fatigued. I seem to perk up a bit after I eat. I use the Carb Manager to track my meals and I do a pretty good job of hitting the macros. If anything, I fail to hit enough carbs.  But protein and fats I’m always on or within 10% of goal. I have the keto test strips and I’ve been in ketosis this for at least two weeks when I began tracking. 

 

Any my suggestions on the fatigue??

  • It sounds like your electrolytes may be low. I take 250 mg magnesium twice a day and eat a couple small pickles. It really helps me and I hope it helps you too.

    Had the same thing when I first started after a couple of weeks, I learned that I was not getting enough salt and electrolytes. Fixed easily by carrying a pink himalayan salt shaker with me and we purchased Dr. Berg’s electrolyte drink, that we have daily.

  • Thank you. I take a 500mg magnesium supplement already so it must be the sodium and potassium. Will work on adding that in.
