Done Atkins for years and suddenly a stall?

I’ve used the Atkins diet to achieve goals since 2003. It’s always worked. Obviously I haven’t made a lifestyle of it to keep the weight off but nonetheless, it’s always worked when I’ve applied the concept to my daily consumptions. Now, after 15 years of success, I hit a stall this summer. Stayed at 204 for a full month and finally gave up. The only hung I did differently this time was add A LOT of hiking. A whole lot! I had thought at first that maybe it was fat to muscle but my size BARELY changed! I wasn’t even sure if I could tell a difference in how my clothing fit and I’ve worked harder this time than I ever have. My ketone test strips stayed burgundy and dark burgundy nearly the entire time! I’m clueless! The only thing I can possibly consider is that I was eating too many calories. I was eating a lot of no carb ribeye. That’s never been a problem before tho. Anyone else lever hit a stall? Also, anyone else doing low carb and low calorie together? If so, what did you set as your calorie limit? I’m starting that today to see if I get results that way.

I lost 100lbs doing Atkins in my late 30s. It was effortless.

I got sick & my doctor convinced me to quit and I regained it all plus 20 more. Worst advice I ever got.

This time in my 50s I’ve had to be strict and Keto to lose. For me it’s all about hormones. This time I have to count calories

I am very active now. Here are my experiences with exercise.

Light to moderate exercise keeps my blood sugar level and I lose steadily. I walk 6 days a week.

Heavy exercise like gardening, weight lifting or pulling my cart full of groceries raises my blood sugar because I am muscle building requiring glucose to be released by my liver. My liver makes the glucose from protein. I’m still in ketosis eating high fat

I benefit in the long run from building muscle but have found I stall if I do heavy exercise daily.

I lose much more consistently with light to moderate exercise.
