It depends on what you're doing. If you're trying to do a ketogenic diet, they range from 20 to 50 carbs or there about. There are so many options, LCHF (low carb, high fat), no fruit, calculating net carbs, not doing net carbs. If you're trying to reverse diabetes, there are diets geared toward that. There are a ton of options. It depends on what you're willing to do.
I have carbohydrate sensitivity which makes it super difficult for me to lose weight. After doing some research, and using the https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/macronutrients_calculator.htm , I went for a moderate carb restrictive diet, basically I stay under 150 net carbs, try to do a macro of 60/30/10. with high protein, lower carb and fat.
I've only been doing this for about a month I'm great with the carbs staying under 100 usually, I'm struggling to keep the protein high and the fat low. Dropping my carbs has increased my energy hugely, and stomach upset and heartburn are almost gone. If I take my vitamins all at one time it causes issues so I'm trying to space them throughout the day. I have lost 10 pounds since April 12, but I'm keeping my calories below 1500 also and walking at least 2 miles a day. So I am not killing myself here, I am doing a diet that I can sustain, that I can live with long term that fits me and my life. Id really depends on what you can live with.
