Beer and Keto

Switched to low carb beer, but still notice weight loss  seems to stall a day or so after consuming...Am I getting kicked off ketosis because of this? I still manage to keep net carbs below 20.

Hey there! The struggle on this one is REAL. I'm not sure if you're falling out of ketosis, but if you really want to get your drink on while practicing KETO, my favorite drink is to take a shot or two of whiskey and put it in an 8 oz glass full of water. It's effective, carb free and pretty tasty in my opinion!

Let me know what you think if you try it :)

My husband drinks Mich Ultra. Make sure you add each beer to your carb count. It took him a little longer to start losing weight but he’s officially at 20lbs at 3 months.

I’m really trying to abstain from beer, and I’m a girl who loves her IPA’s! I just don’t see the point of light beers, don’t like the taste. I also find it hard to just have a single beer sometimes... so it’s easier to just pass. I am having the very occasional glass of wine (like maybe once a week). The more you can limit alcohol, the better. Some people say it’s fine to have liquor (most are zero carb), but I say it’s still calories that aren’t doing anything for me nutrition-wise.

keleharn This is what I have been drinking along with Budweiser Select 55.  However, I have been on the Keto diet for a little less than a month and lost just a little under 5 Pounds. I will try to limit my alcohol to strictly weekend dinners and see if that helps.  Thanks!

Corona Premier (not Extra or Light) is a good choice but you should still limit yourself.

Hutch Is there a reason why you should avoid the light beers?

Maggie K  I think Low carb beer is fine in moderation. It’s just in regards to Corona, the Premier version is even lower in carbs than their Light version. I would still have to limit myself to one or two and track the macros carefully.
