Yes, it does matter. Your proteins should be set to provide for your target weight (post weight loss).
Consuming too much protein can lead to glucoseneogenisis (hope I’ve spelled that correctly) wherein your body converts extra protein into glucose. That’s not good as it can spike sugar levels, etc. How much extra protein does it take to start glucose neogenisis is different from person to person. I imagine that a gram or so over now and then probably isn’t a big deal, but consistently over might well defeat the purpose of low carb.
Best to stay close to your protein target.
