Considering going low carb (increasing carbs).. I’ve been on keto for 12 days

Hello Everyone,

As the above states, this is my 12th day of keto and although I have really enjoyed feeling better physically- higher levels of energy, no bloating - (especially after dehydration “aka keto flu”) I am not entirely convinced this is going to be a life change that I will stick with.
My consideration to switching to low carb is due to: I am currently pursing my post masters psych nurse practitioner certification and I don’t have time to cook the kind of variety of meals that I could enjoy.
I am finding that keto can be expensive, (I haven’t bought more than ketones strips, but I am referring to some of the “fast foods” keto offers like like Quest protein cookies).
Thirdly, it’s been difficult to be the only one in my family eating Keto and when I do cook, I don’t want to worry about extra modifications. In other words, if I want an apple or a sweet potato or even corn, I want the liberty to eat it.
With that in mind, I suppose my question is this: 1) should I embrace to experience another physiological shift out of Ketosis if I choose to do so and 2) Im assuming  I shouldn’t expect expedited weight loss from in taking more carbs, but is it a somewhat comparable amount of weight loss in comparison to keto?
I would love any suggestions from those who have made a transition from keto to low carb. I am also open to receive any advice or other suggestions.

For reference: I am a 33 y/o female, and have a  classic apple shape (aka metabolic syndrome candidate) as would like to lose an additional 48 lbs. I am not currently exercising, I am waiting impatiently on Bowflex to send my spin bike 😂

Thank you in advance for your time,

Terri

  • It will take you longer, but like you I have to have more variety. Just make sure when you do add more carbs that they are fruit and vegetables and not cookies and donuts.

Once you start exercising, you will notice a difference.
