Intermittent fasting

Does coffee and cream count as eating during your fasting time?  I’m trying to break a plateau.

To my understanding, coffee by itself does not, but unless you add only a VERY little bit of cream, the cream may well bust your fast.

    Hope this helps.

Pat F  what are you goals? fat loss? or autophagy?  if its fat loss, and a little creamer helps you thru, then thats a plus you can have it in the morning at the end of a 12hr fast.  That small amount shouldn't  put you over your nutrient goals.  good luck

debbai I have no idea what you’re talking about.  Somebody asked the question, “Does coffee and cream count as eating during your fasting time?”, and I answered them.

My reply was,  ‘Coffee by itself does not, but unless you add only a VERY little bit of cream, the cream may well bust your fast.’   Both conditions are correct (no matter what time of day): coffee alone won’t bust your fast, but adding too much cream might.

Simple answer to a simple question; not a big deal.

    Have a good one.

  • Yes, cream will break your fast, black coffee alone, I have learned to love my black coffee, I add a little Redmonds Salt to take away the bitterness :-)
