Keto itch/rash?
So I’m only on week one of this Keto low carb eating and I’ve been awake alllllll night with itching skin on my back tummy and chest. It’s driving me crazy, I’ve googled and apparently it’s a real thing but very rare? Anyone else have this? I’ve taken some antihistamines to see if it’ll help, have never had anything like this before. It’s going to be a long zzzzzz

I got keto rash on the back of my neck last year when I first tried it, was so unbearable so I ipped my carbs a little and it went away after a few weeks. Now I'm on keto for 3 weeks again and my rash came back like crazy, all around my hairline and all over my scalp with huge mountain bumps. Its painfully itchy.. just dreadful. I've never personally met anyone that's experienced it which makes it more annoying.

Have you added anything to your diet by switching to keto that you didn’t normally consume? Maybe almond or coconut flour? Or maybe you have been consuming a lot more dairy than you are used to? It’s possible that you are having an allergic reaction to something new you are eating.
You could try taking a daily allergy pill, like Loratadine, and see if that helps. And increase your water intake.

My sister had this issue and she did two things that she swears helped.
1. She added Apple cider vinegar to her water that she drinks in the mornings.
2. For two days every 14 days she eats 8-10 Net carbs a day more than her regular keto amount of net carbs. Then goes right back to her regular daily macros.
she says this has knocked the keto rash out for her.
