Loose skin 馃お馃お

Been using the app for 6 months 90lbs down!  Not excited about looking like a Sharpei.  Any suggestions?  Does it go away?  Exercise every day.  Do lots of arm and thigh workouts.  Have read that extreme weight loss it may never go away.  I find that hard to believe.  Kind of think it is a ploy by the plastic surgery arena.

  • I lost 90 pounds 13 years ago and didn鈥檛 notice extra skin as being an issue. I worked out a lot though - we鈥檙e talking an hour in the morning and 2 hours in the evening. Now having gained back the weight, and not exercising as much, I wonder the same thing. So my only advice would be to increase cardio, especially working on your core. That鈥檚 what I am doing, slowly but surely. Good luck and congrats in your loss!!!

Sapphiretyger That is awesome!  Great job!
I admit for the first few months I wasn't working out at all.  This last month I do about an hour a day.  I think it will eventually too.   It just seemed to happen, really I just noticed, and now it bothers me.  congrats again to you!

    R. henry I fell for the myth that some sites promote and that is as long as you keep cards low (below 20-30) you can eat whatever you want.  Absolutely false.  No matter what you do whether it is keto or just exercise, you have to burn more than you consume.  I go the basic rule of 2000cal for women and 2500 for men.  Depending on your lifestyle it may be different.  I.E. a sedentary persons metabolism can slow WAY down, and even though you may only be taking in 1500cal a day, you can still gain.  If you are active, you may be burning 2000-2500 cal a day, more depending on your activity level.

I would keep an eye on total cal, fat, carbs and protein.  Too much of any, you will have to burn it somehow.  Do a google search on keto recommended intake.  It will give you some ideas.  I can tell you my limits are extreme, and I would not recommend them.   Although you are replacing carbs with fat as a fuel source, you still have to use it, or it packs on.  Too much protein and you won't burn fat well, it can also mess up your blood sugar levels defeating ketosis as excess protein will be turned into glucose.

    Good luck!

Give Genesis from Xyngular a try or Super Greens from PH Miracle with Prime PH.  Skin is our largest organ, I found nourishment from the inside out works best while losing weight.  I lost 50 lbs in the past and did the Super Greens and my skin tightened and looked great.  BTW I don't sell neither product, sharing from my own experience only.  Congrats on the weight loss!

The excess skin usually lasts forever without surgery and I don't think any cream or potion will help..... BUT!!!! there is some new scientific information that is very exciting!  There is a bodily process called " autophogy"  ....
When a person fasts for a long enough period of time, autophogy will begin and the body goes into a housecleaning mode.  It eats up dead and malfunctioning cells... excess protein etc.  It is a miraculous process that can help with many things including Alzheimer's (cleans out plaque) and even the excess skin from dramatic weight loss.  Do a little research... it's free and there are some great stories out there!  馃槉

Karen  yes, I heard similar about autophagy and fasting! Also adding collagen supplements might help. You can also look into a dermaroller to target areas of the face and body to help tighten skin. I have also heard that drinking at least 64oz of water to keep hydrated also helps the skin shrink as you lose. Hope this helps!

AMYEKAS  Karen I take a collagen supplement, only for about a month now.  Not long enough for results.  As far as it lasting forever, I have read it will go away on it's own in time (in a lot of cases).  Articles saying contrary are usually pushing surgery or trying to  sell some gimmick.  From what I have read, the longer you have been over weight,  the degree and your age will be proportional to the time to lose the skin, especially if you lost weigh fast.  Dropping weight slowly gives time for the skin to adjust.  Fast and it can't rebound.  I am 49 and am seeing some change, but I think that is mostly the result of continued aerobic and strength training.  There is a point of no return where you have to replace some of the sag with muscle.

I saw on a youtube video that the skin can absorb the many benefits of coconut oil. I've used it for months use twice a day as an all over body moisturizer. It sinks in pretty quickly, & compared to most body lotions, it's very inexpensive.

Jojo Ah thank you.  Hadn't thought of that.  It has slowly getting better.  It seemed so extreme cause I lost so much so fast.  As I have leveled out a bit on the amount of weightless, the skin has begun to disappear.   slowly.
