New to Keto

Hi I’ve only recently started Keto and am a little confused with Total Carbs versus Net Carbs.  I just would like to know do I stay under 30 Total Carbs in order to lose weight or do I base this on Net Carbs calculations?

I have been losing approximately 1 kg a week but have recently started to put weight back on even though I haven’t strayed....  Initially I was on 1200 cal per day, then increased to 1500 as I was told that I was under eating and that it may cause my metabolism to slow down.  However, I now feel that I am not calculating the carbs correctly especially with veggies and have put weight on.

I would appreciate any advice anyone can give me.

Cheers

Lil

  • Calculate net grams not total grams. Also eating 30g of vegetables is not going to make you gain weight that’s 120 calories.  Weight loss is not linear there will be times it will be up a little or not move at all. Many people measure themselves and see changes there but not on the scale for a while before it trends down again.  Make sure you’re getting your protein.  Try eating a little less plate fat and burn more body fat for energy.
