Help! What to do on holiday?

I'm going away for a week but won't have a kitchen to cook for myself.   I'd ideally stick with keto, but know that eating out is difficult and I often find hidden carbs I wasn't expecting.  Am I best to try sticking to keto as much as possible or having a  dirty week?  Will I feel sick returning to a carb diet? Any thoughts or experience appreciated.

Hi I have had two holidays since starting keto and both times I didnt stick to keto. On both occasions I gained but i went straight back on plan on my return and in a week the gains were gone so I know i can have carbs but lose quickly  , so it was  water weight and bloating but no sickness but that's just my experience .

Thanks for your reply.  I'm worried that if I'm still eating high fat, then add in carbs, I'll really blow the diet and put on more weight.

I’m in maintenance and try to eat under 100 total g of carbs. So my fat intake is usually 50-60%.   I just follow this:  limit carbs, meet or exceed protein, and the rest  fat for satiety.  Calories are usually under maintenance but they’re sometimes over.   We all used to be afraid of fat, we can’t be afraid of carbs now:)

Weight loss and gain is based on calories, so eat small portions while away. You will need to get back into ketosis, but probably won't gain any fat weight.

You can always eat KETO when eating out at most places but you have to ask if any meats or veggies are cooked in sauces or marinades. Stick to under 20 carbs a day and you will be fine. I dont ever recommend getting out of ketosis because it takes that much longer to get back into it. PM me and ill fill you in on what i used.

I take small bags of nuts in my bag then if we stop for coffee I’m less tempted by cakes if I know I have something to nibble on
