Is peanut butter at less that 2 gram of carbs okay if keeping below 30g a day of carbs

So I am within my first week of eating less than 30g a day. Today I bought peanut butter and it is less than 2 gram per table spoon. I know I am not mean to have any carbs at all in my induction but I am still staying under 30g a day. I wonder if this is okay- because I have decided to stay on induction for longer meaning I can have nuts and seeds.

    I'm not sure what diet you are following as keto doesn't have a zero carb or induction phase as far as I know. Peanut butter is fine as long as it doesn't have sugar in it...as many do. Be sure it's 100% natural all peanuts.

  • Make sure you read the ingredients (in everything you buy). There should be just two or three ingredients with peanuts being first in the list.

  • linrenep it’s contents of sugar are very low @<0.2. I am doing the Atkins because of its similarities I thought they were the same. I might have to get an actual Keto book. Many thanks for your reply!

  • I found a cookbook I like. It's got so much more than recipes! It's called The Easy 5-Ingredient Ketogenic Diet Cookbook by Jen Fisch. I made the mistake of buying ebooks about Keto Diet. I like holding and flipping through the pages of a physical book. The ebook company were great though because they refunded my money! Yea!

    i_got_life2do9367 I think anything that works for you and you can stick to is good. If Atkins is working, good for you.

    Touchdown15 there's another good one from ketoconnect.com but it just came out and is a bit pricey but they have the absolute best receipes I've tried. (Try there chicken pizza crust and choc chip cookie dough fat bombs).

  • Touchdown15 I have seen this but didn’t buy. With your recommendation I will :) it seems like the idea Jamie Oliver has adapted for his new book- though not relevant to keto.

  • linrenep Thank You. I only heard of keto after I started reading into Atkins and saw a documentary on Netflix... I am leaning to towards it but not there yet as I am pretty new and need more info but 30g a day is okay for now as I can sustain it; anything more would be over ambitious at the moment.

  • i_got_life2do9367 keto is different from Atkins.  20g carb a day, moderate protein n higher fat.
