FRUSTRATED!

Ok, I have been doing this for 10 days now, lost 6 pounds in 6 days. I have been in ketosis since day 3. I took a laxative yesterday because well, you know why. And the laxative worked ALL NIGHT LONG and is still going strong this morning . I got on the scale, and I GAINED 1 LB! I have not had a bad carb this whole time, and have been pretty strict with my macro's. What is up?

stacemont Awesome. I have to do something a little different. I think I'm in a stall but can't be certain yet.

stacemont Is it the one with almond milk? If so, wondering if I can substitute  the milk.

badmojomn  yes and I would think you can. I used some xanthan gum to thicken.

stacemont how natural is the "gum" and maybe I'll use more cream or cream cheese.

stacemont I did for first three months to get my mind straight about what I can and can't eat. After three months I found it to trigger me to actually eat more. No offense to the maker of the app. I think it's a wonderful tool all in all. I use it for the other features now. I actually eat less now and know what is just carbage.  I eat as much fat as I can in a day. No tracking. Melting melting. It's working for now but when I hit a long plateau I may go back and re- Annalize my methods. Not everyone is the same.

I have stopped tracking for the same reasons badmojomn  I found I started thinking.... oh I have x & y left so I had better eat them. I am truly listening to my body 9 out of 10 days I do IF 18:6 eating only 2 meals; on the remaining day, I tend to want to eat earlier around 11am and then have 3 meals.

Weigh day on Friday but so far 23.4 lbs in 8 wks.

my max carbohydrates are 20g but most days when counting came in at 14-19 max. I have stopped craving & being hungry. Peace. Tweak what you are doing to suit you & your own body. I have added a link under low carb chat for a free 14 day challenge with the diet Doctor if you are feeling blue.

badmojomn  I had the same experience. It helped me to get started and when I stopped entering everything that goes into my body, I started to eat less and noticed less carbs too. It's like not being obsessed with food anymore.

  • stacemont  if you need a sweetener, try sweet leaf as it does not affect insulin levels

arnoldfamily1 I can't stand the taste of artificial sweeteners. I use a pinch of monk fruit in my morning coffee, does it affect insulin levels?

  • stacemont me tooooo! I鈥檓 constantly planning what the next meal will be. Pure fear on my part so I can be prepared for the hunger I know will be ever present (I鈥檓 on Day 11, still adjusting to no chips and cookies!).

darlindelights334  I'm 3 weeks in and 10 pounds down. It's working, and I'm adjusting,  I'm not hungry as much as I just think about it a lot.  I'm finding as long as I keep my carbs down it doesn't matter how much protein and fat I eat. The big test was at a baby shower the other day, I passed up a lot of yummy stuff I would usually eat, and stuck  to dips and veggies and cheese ball!

  • stacemont 10 lbs is GREAT! That鈥檚 what I love about this diet鈥攖he weight absolutely goes down. But it is hard to be near the tastier stuff and know we can鈥檛 partake! Good. For you!!!

I鈥檓 thinking of making French onion soup minus the bread.  It has to be loaded with onions though so the cheese won鈥檛 sink. And onions have some carbs. Any ideas?

cathyrex52f2fb well. I would search for a low carb recipe for that and only make it for a treat. Tasty. I do order one at a local restaurant when I'm out and about and I share it with my hubby.
