Does keto work after losing a large amount of weight
Has anyone had trouble losing weight on keto after losing alot of weight on other diets? I lost 100 pounds over 5 years on WW, I have 20 more I want to lose, it stopped working for me so I switched to keto. I have been under 20 net carbs for 3 weeks and 20 total carbs for the last week and I keep gaining .5 pound a week. I have not lost anything. I am trying to be patient but when you don't see results its frustrating. Any tips, advice or encouragement to be patient? In the last two weeks I average 94g fat 94 grams protein and 19 total carbs . TIA

May want to try lowering protein. Generally you want the calories from protein being 15-30% of what you eat, fat to be 60-75%. Sounds like you're doing great on the carbs. Also make sure that your calories aren't too high. My goal is 1280 and I am normally close to or right under it. Have you tried intermittent fasting?

dshean87 Thank you, I am averaging about 1300 calories per day, as far as IF, I stop eating most nights by 630pm and then I don't have my first meal of the day until anywhere b/w 11-1 the next day except for a tbsp of heavy cream in my coffee. I was in ketosis for a few days at .8 and now have dropped back down to .3 and .4 on the blood meter so maybe it is too much protein

Melrond70 that's kind of what I do too, I eat lunch around 1 usually then dinner around 6:30. I have done a fast where I had dinner at 5 and then didn't eat again until 5 the next day except for my coffee w/ MCT oil and HWC. I would try lowering the protein for a week to more 20-30% range and let the fats take up the bulk of your calories and see how that is for you.

Absolutely normal to slow down after large loss. WW so different....keto is teaching your body to burn fats not carbs which takes time to switch. You will reboot. You r basically doing 16/8 I.F. Which will help. I had same problem. Mct oil , cream in 1st coffee and not eating again till 5pm rebooted my system. Lowering protein made big difference and reducing carbs.
