Keto side effect?
I’ve been on keto since February and I’ve lost 40pounds. However just recently I have a smell that’ll knock out a horse! When I use the potty? Oh my word! It’s truly gross. My breath seems fine. Now the most carbs I’ve had in the last week is 11. The week before the most was 13. My calorie intake is approx 400 a day. I do stay home. But the pee thing, and maybe I’m dehydrated? I don’t have uti but definitely noticed a different feeling going potty. Should I take. Break from keto? Do I not drink enough? Am I strange? Haha

Boston B Urine should be just slightly yellow on the verge of crystal clear signifying proper hydration. Dehydration will cause concentrated urine, which is a darker yellow and odorous, and will also have reduced volume. Make sure you are getting the amount of water you need. I’ve heard certain foods can affect urine smell but, I can’t speak intelligently on that. Never felt the need to research it. However my main concern is your low caloric intake. That in itself could cause issues I’d imagine. 400 calories is way low.

It could be. 1200 is considered the minimum for adult women without medical supervision. Of course that is a general guideline, and there will be variation based on metabolism, weight etc. 400 calories is incredibly low, likely dangerous to your health and may stall your metabolism making losing weight more difficult. I am trying to eat smaller amounts more often.

ShortGuy oooo.... crap. I went in and rechecked, some days I’m in the negatives for calories? How’s that even possible? I joined planet fitness 4 months ago and still haven’t gone so it’s not exercising!! I eat eggs zero carb breads and bagels, grass fed burger, cream cheese, avacodo butter and a bunch of keto friendly cookies 🤫 I feel like I’m not hungry... but dehydrated yes

Gina I’ve gone off for a day twice. Both times I was disappointed with the food I was eating 😂 but still had no cravings or even desire to eat. You’re talking to someone who weighed 200lbs! Carbs? I had to be eating over 300 a day. I don’t think I ever cooked. Sad I know. But now it’s like food is a nuisance. Except the smells! Still love the smell! Taste is diminished

They talk about this in one of the CM articles concerning getting the right amount of Electrolytes
“A good way to determine whether you’re getting enough water or not is by looking at the color of your urine. If it’s a light yellow or clear, then you’re most likely hydrated. The darker yellow your urine is, the more dehydrated you are. In this case, you should consider increasing your water intake. “
