  • Same here. I am.confused. I read optimal is 1.5 - 3.   one thing but Dark is better. Where should I be to be in best place to lose?

  • The per strips are not reliable it's a good tool as you start out but it's not important to get them dark. Any level is good. It's just testing the excess ketones that you are peeing out. As your body becomes fat adapted your body will use all the ketones you make and the strips won't read any thing. Keep eating right and you will see results. Drink plenty of water

  • Jakapalooza  Thanks for the info!  How long before I become "fat adapted" I have been on Keto for 2 weeks.  Also how do you know you are in Keto when the strips stop working?

  • Bellacocoa typically a month or so in you become fat adapted but everyone is different.  As far as confirming you are in ketosis you can get the blood monitor but after a while you just know. The weight keeps dropping the clothes feel looser and if you are not as hungry. The sooner you think of this as a lifestyle change and not a diet the better off you will be. Just stay under the carbs and enjoy learning about keto. Im 8 months in down 70 pounds and I learn something new almost every day.

  • Jakapalooza Thanks! and I do think of this as a lifestyle.  I'm down 11+ in 2 weeks so I know its working.  I just like the "check" if you know what I mean.  I have 62 more to go (hopefully by Nov 21!
