When to restrict fats?

I've been on keto for 3 weeks staying within 20 net carbs. Not losing any weight but feeling like a champion for other behaviours it curtails (ie portion control). Some say to reduce fats to enable body to use own fat reserves. Others say not to. I'm confused. If yes, reduce by how much? Or do I eat protein and veg then just use fats to satiety? Any experiences with this issue? Thanks

  • If you are only three weeks in, it probably isn't time to start messing with your macros yet.  Aside from weight, have there been any other changes? Have you lost inches anywhere? Do you have more energy? Are you hungry less often?

Before you start messing with macros....do you exercise? Have you tried intermittent fasting? Do you drink MORE than enough water daily? There are lots of things to take into account before you start messing with macros.

My understanding is to focus on net carbs (mine is under 30/day) and not ease up on fats. Fat will be the fuel!! Just watch every little carb and make sure you enter your stats to get fat and protein requirements in your carb manager! Dr. Berg does a fabulous job explaining things on YouTube, just fyi.

    Stay strong & determined!!

I found that I had to restrict my calories and fat to start losing weight so I went with the 20/40/40 macro at my calorie limit and it's gotten the scale to start moving again. (Although it's more like 12/44/44. I keep my net carbs at 30 and still stay in ketosis on my ketomojo meter.
