New to Keto

I started Keto less than a week ago, dropped 9lbs, however I hadn’t been feeling well for 2days.  Nausea; chills; weak, no appetite. I finally felt better today, but still not hungry, I’ve been usually super low with my macros and I’ve been in Ketosis since friday. I have my watch connected to this app to keep me motivated to move, but because of that my net carbs are alway negative (-2, -3 ect...) I’m probably not eating enough but I’m not hungry, is that bad.? Advice from you fine members is always appreciated

  • If you’ve set your calories in a deficit for weight loss then you need to eat those calories.  You’re switching from glucose to fat for energy so especially in the beginning just keep your carbs limited, eat your protein and fat is your source of energy. You don’t have enough fuel if you under eat.

  • This is normal for keto, since your body is shifting to using fat for energy rather than using glucose for energy your body will need some getting used to. This is called the keto flu, I recommend researching a bit to really understand why your body is not feeling well. I would say this is normal for the diet change, but to be 100% sure maybe do a tad bit of research :)

  • Yeah sounds like you need to take some electrolytes. The initial peeing of carbs and the water they hold onto means you lose electrolytes. Load up.

  • guerraselena09 What he's describing here is also related to electrolyte imbalance.
