Hi everyone! I am brand new to Keto - starting today 😳. I’ve decided to give keto a try because I need a healthier (carb & sugar free) lifestyle & because my sister’s wedding is in October, so I want to feel better & more confident in my own skin. I know I will need encouragement & guidance so I’m sure I will look to this community for it, so thank you in advance!
Congrats on embarking on this new lifestyle. It is a big step to take and it does take some getting used to but in the long run you should feel better and the weight is easier to control. At least it has been for me.
Anytime I have slipped back into eating carbs the weight has just creeped back on, slowly at first then more quickly as time went on. I went off keto for 6-8 months and re-gained 15 pounds and 5% body fat (I went from 155 lbs back up to 170 lbs and around from 13% body fat up to 18%). I have almost shed all of that in the last two months, mainly looking to lower my % body fat now, weight can be were ever just as long as I can get the body fat% down to 12% from the 15% I am currently at.
There are lot of resources online, the trick is weeding out the hype from the better science. I would suggest looking up Tuit Nutrition, Dr. Boz, Dr. Peter Attia as some starting points.
